چکیده
This paper examines the influence of austempering and shot peening on wear resistance ductile iron. Samples for further testing were made from mechanically processed casts. The hardness microstructure iron examined prepared samples. Metallographic analysis cast samples in state determined pearlitic-ferritic structure matrix characteristic this type Pearlite predominates structure, rest consists ferrite graphite nodules. then austempered. isothermal conversion was 240 °C. After austempering, measured characterized, changes that occurred relation to heat-treated studied. Austempering created a new austempered harder than state, which led improved mechanical properties. A needle-like lower bainite (ADI) with high-carbon austenite, untransformed martensite nodules achieved. selected parameters process deformed surface ADI achieved mostly martensitic without presence soft phase, increased abrasion. Additional hardening substrate by resulted composite material properties comparative steel parts, are lighter, cheaper easier manufacture, more resistant quieter operation. Such should have an even wider application engineering, thus construction marine machinery plants.

prediction of ignition delay period in d.i diesel engines
a semi-empirical mathematical model for predicting physical part of ignition delay period in the combustion of direct - injection diesel engines with swirl is developed . this model based on a single droplet evaporation model . the governing equations , namely , equations of droplet motion , heat and mass transfer were solved simultaneously using a rung-kutta step by step unmerical method . the...
Corrosive wear in crosshead diesel engines
Existing theories describe corrosive wear in crosshead diesel engines in terms of acid condensation, when the temperature in the combustion space drops below the dew point. Here a theory is proposed which stresses the role of alkaline cylinder lubricants in protecting the metal surface. Calculated liner wear rates as a function of fuel sulphur content, feed rate and alkalinity of the oil, and a...

environmental effects of gol-e-gohar iron ore mine on groundwater of the area
gol-e-gohar iron ore mine of sirjan in southern part of iran is a large open pit that operates below the groundwater table and during mining operation, dewatering is required to prevent operation processes from flooding. current operation is going on by digging wells in or out of the pit and pumping to prevent flooding. as a result of the former dewatering operation a vast deep cone of depressi...
